Shaft Sealing of Horizontal Slurry Pumps
Our Horizontal Slurry Pumps have three sealing types: Centrifugal Seal or Expeller Seal, Gland seal and Mechanical Seal.
The Gland seal is commonly used in our horizontal slurry pumps. This type of seal requires continuous clean flushing water lubrication and cooling between the rotating shaft sleeve and the compressed packing, to prevent over heating due to the friction.
The centrifugal seal is a dynamic, dry seal that only is effective while the horizontal slurry pumps is rotating and has no seal effect when the pump is stationary. An auxiliary shaft seal must be provided to prevent leakage when the pump is not in operation.
Mechanical seals are not widely used in our horizontal slurry pumps. When it is essential for the leakage to be prevented entirely, then mechanical seals should be provide a solution. The mechanical seal consists of a stationary and rotating face pressed together under mechanical and hydraulic pressure to prevent leakage.
