During the sludge pump running, various problems may occur, how to solve them quickly? Here, we list some common questions for your reference.

1. Abrasive Slurry Pump fails to discharge any liquid
Possible reasons: Air leaking into suction or gland
Incorrect direction of pump rotation & impeller worn
Suction pipe blocked
Solutions: Sealed leakage
Check direction of rotation and replacing impeller
Removal blockage
2. Shaft power consumption is excessive
Possible reasons: Gland excessively tightened against packing ring
Rotation component rubbing on a stationary part
Bearing worn
Drive belt tension too tight
Flow rate too large
Misalignment or unparallel of drive shaft /pump shaf
Solutions: Loose gland bolts
Removal the rubber part
Replacing bearing
Adjusting belt

3. Bearing is over heating

5. Excessive leakage from stuffing box

Shaft sleeve worn
Dirty sealing water
Solutions: Replace new packing ring
Replace shaft sleeve
Change clean sealing water
6. Pump vibrates or is noisy
Possible reasons: Bearing worn
Impeller unbalanced
Air entered into suction pipe or blocked
Flow rate non-uniform and pump not primed
Solutions: Replace new bearings
Replace new impeller
Discharge air and remove block
Improve on the pump feeding
